You would be surprised how many people will go out of their way for a chance to win even small prizes. I have a gift store that sells Beanie Babies amoung many other items. Everytime new Beanie Babies are introduced I do a raffle giving away the one of the new releases. This supplies me with a mailing list, which I send other promotions to. Most my Beanie Baby customers come in the store only for the beanies, completely missing the other items in the store. By collecting their address through the raffle, I'm able to get them to notice the other items in my store that they over looked. I advertise the Beanie Baby raffle in the local paper, this attracts new customers. I make them repeat customers by following up with a mailing. Customers have told me " I was in last week for Beanie Babies and didn't see that you had ... until I got your flyer."
