It doesn't have to cost a lot of money to exhibit at a trade show. In fact, my total costs including travel, lodging, and exhibit space for the first major national show we attended was only $600.

Many national shows offer smaller spaces or even tables for smaller exhibitors for very low prices. Some offer special deals on travel and accommodations.

A simple 2 × 3 foot poster along with a few product samples proved very effective for making our first tabletop display.

If you want to look more polished, you may want to consider a portable display. A small, single booth or tabletop commercial display is inexpensive to ship and can be set up at virtually any convention without hiring union labor.
