Yahoo! Storewww.store.yahoo.comYahoo! Store offers the same services as many other online storefronts: unlimited product capabilities and Web site generation tools. One major difference between Yahoo! Store and the other two services mentioned is that Yahoo! Store charges $100 per month for every fifty items available for sale on the site. Most online storefront services charge a monthly fee on top of any merchant account fees, and the Yahoo! Store fee is not exorbitant by industry standards. Small stores are categorized by having up to fifty items and cost $100 per month. Large stores are categorized by having up to 1,000 items and will cost around $300 per month. Yahoo! Store does have provisions for larger stores. They will run about $300 per month for the first 1,000 items, plus $100 per month for each additional 1,000 items. This is on top of any merchant fees you will incur with your service. But, for the price, you get a lot of good features. Yahoo! Store does not have a maximum number of products, and, unlike some of the other services, they do offer a product search feature. This means storefronts with a wide array of products can let their customers search and find precisely what they need. However considering the monthly fees, large-scale stores can become very expensive. The Yahoo! Store’s site generation features are excellent, if time consuming. Because there is no size limit to the site, every product can have a graphic, a drop-down menu (great for sizes and colors), and even an extensive description. The site generation product even allows you to set different pricing for quantities and sales. The site promotion is first-rate, if limited. Just by creating your site with Yahoo! Store you are automatically added to the Yahoo! search engine in the proper category. Yahoo! is one of the most used search engines, so that aspect of the promotion is excellent, but that is as far as it goes. You can also arrange to sell products through Yahoo! auctions.
